Crawling Back to God After Experiencing Failure

Have you walked away from God?

Does life seem unfulfilling?

Do you feel like a total failure after trying to do everything your way?

Well, know that with God, you can succeed even after you have failed Him.

A couple months back, I was at my lowest. I had just moved back to New York after being in California with my husband for 10.5 months. We had left for better jobs and for a better life. However, I didn’t feel satisfied with life. Instead, I felt like a total failure! Yes, I was getting paid awesome money and yes, I was living a California life but, honestly, I felt like I had failed God.

Back in New York, we were both in church, in a couple of ministries, as well as working and going to school. We had dropped all that to pursue a better life in California.

Even though we make choices to leave, God will never forsake us. He will never leave us. (Joshua 1:5). We may make choices that think are better for us and in the end, we find out it only ruined us.

My husband and I wanted to succeed so much in life but, without Christ we were nothing.

Are you feeling like that? Are you wanting to make something of yourself without God’s help?

Well, here’s a little secret: When you fail, God will prevail.

Yes, I said it. When you begin to make choices for your own sake and not God’s, you will fail. But, with God, you can prosper!

When Joshua had become the next leader to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land, he had no idea what he was doing. He was young and knew very little of leadership. Before going to claim the land that was stolen, a messenger was sent to him. He had said: “Be strong and courageous! This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.” (Joshua 1:8)

Don’t we wish for a manual instruction on how to succeed in life? Well, it was all said in that one verse! Recite God’s word day and night and you will prosper! Your manual instruction to life is God’s Word.

If you want to succeed, rely on God’s Word. If you want to stop feeling like a failure, rely on God’s Word!

There may be things that you’re not proud of or wholeheartedly regret. You may have turned away from Christ only to come back to Him as a failure and that is OKAY. You may have had it all in the beginning but what good is it if Christ is not the center of it all?

In God’s Word, it speaks that anyone finding his life will lose it, and anyone losing his life because of Him will find it. (Matthew 10:39). When we had returned to New York, we went from having everything to having nothing. Even though we have to start from the ground up again, we won’t fail because we have Christ in our hearts again.

Sometimes, God lets us have our failures only to remind us that He has never left us. He has always been there with open arms waiting for us to run back to Him. Sometimes, we have to lose it all and start from the bottom because we need to be reminded that life is with God in it. He’s the center of everything in our lives!

Through the Word of God, we can all prosper and never feel like failures again! Through Christ, we can have everything we ever need. With Christ, we can find meaning in our lives again.
