Dear Christian Blogger, You are GOOD Enough!

Are you a Christian Blogger?

Are you doubting your calling as Christian blogger?

Today, I had faced a brick wall. It was another roadblock in my blogging journey. I knew why but yet, I kept hearing this little voice in my head that kept stopping me from continuing on.

If you’re a blogger, you know those roadblocks that you just can’t seem to get over. To other people, it may be something small. But to you, it’s a BIG deal.

You begin to doubt yourself and start to believe that you’re a failure. You look at the other bloggers in your niche and you wonder:

Am I good enough?

Dear Christian Blogger You are Good Enough

That was the roadblock I hit today. I don’t ever compare myself to anyone or anything but, it was just this little thing that seems to explode in my mind and take over.

Matter of fact, I had lost hope!

I had lost hope in my blogging, I had lost hope in myself, but most importantly, I had lost hope in my Savior Jesus Christ.

When I realized that, I knew I had to overcome that lie. I knew I was good enough for Jesus!

When you are called to blogging, you have hopes that it will reach to many people. You hope that their spirit may be filled by your post. You hope that it may bless them – even if it’s one person.

But when you lose hope in what you have been called to do, you are actually losing hope on the ONE who called you.

God knew us before we were even born on this earth. He knew our hearts, our mindsets, our passions, our desires, and our failures. He had already written out our plans for the future.

Whatever we do for His Will is good enough for Him. We are to be the salt and light of the world. We are to share the Gospel where it’s never been shared and reach to others who don’t know Christ.

However we do it, it’s all good enough for Him.

God confirmed in His word that I was good enough for Him. My blog is good enough for Him. In His Word it says:

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” – Mt 5:16

Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers! Instead, compare your likeness to Christ!

Ask yourself if this is something Jesus will say or do. It may sound a bit cheesy but Christ spoke in parables and blog posts can be shaped into modern day parables to reach other people.

We are to have the hearts and mind like Christ because God did make us in His likeness. Your readers will appreciate your blog more and share it with others.

Rather than closing the laptop and throwing your hands in the air out of frustration, open your heart to Jesus. Ask Him to give you the strength and guidance to continue on your blogging journey.

Remember, blogging is your ministry. Ministries take lots of time to develop and prosper. But, always keep this in the back of your mind: There is always at least ONE person who needs to hear God’s Word today.

So don’t give up, Child of God! Those roadblocks are just small battles of a war that has been won over by a HUGE victory!

As a Christian blogger, it can be difficult to get your blog out there and be seen by lots of people. At times, we look at other bloggers and wonder if we’re good enough. Don’t compare yourself to other bloggers but rather compare your heart and likeness to Christ. You are good enough for Him and your blog that spreads His word is good enough for Him as well. All you need to know that there’s always at least one person who needs to hear God’s Word today.

What roadblocks have you hit?  How did you overcome them?

  1. I have been blogging and podcasting for a year. Thanks for your encouragement. Blogging can be lonely and we need to not believe the lies of the enemy. My family keeps encouraging me, which helps. I am attending two blogging conferences to make friends and get support from others doing the same thing.

    1. Hey Theresa! I’m glad this post brought you encouragement. It can get very hard to keep going but, don’t give up! God has plans for everyone! If you don’t mind me asking what conferences will you be attending? I need to attend a few myself but, there are none near me.

  2. Such an encouraging post! I’ve been blogging since 2007, before it became what it is now, and honestly, all the extras that I see many doing and how many read their blog articles both amazes and overwhelms me. I have more than one area of ministry, so taking that kind of time isn’t often an option. I do what I can, but very few see my blog.

I miss the days when I started blogging and many more were reading and commenting, it was a wonderful community. Nonetheless, I continue on because even if one person is stirred to greater passion for Jesus or set free from a lie they are believing as I share His love and truth, it’s worth it!

    1. I’m glad to hear that this post gave you encouragement. I also pray that God continues to use you as a vessel in all your ministries. God won’t give you something He knows that you can’t handle. So keep pushing forward and know that you are doing great in God’s eyes. 🙂

  3. I loved this post. I have been blogging for about a month and have hit this roadblock. Great reminder to always remember why I started blogging in the first place, to share hope and love promised by our God.

““The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    1. Nicole,

Don’t give up! It’s always hard the first month or two but don’t give up. I love the verse you shared! If you need any help with blogging or need to know what plugins are great for what I’m happy to help you. Just shoot me an email. Blessings!

  4. Great blog, and very encouraging! Thank you so much for sharing. My God continue to bless you and your blogging ministry in an overflow of abundance!

  5. Martika, thank-you for your post. I feel called to write, but I am not sure yet in what capacity. This has helped me to remember that whatever way I write for Him, my ministry will make the enemy try to keep me from realizing my calling.

  6. Hi, Martika! I just want to say thank you for your encouragement about blogging. I have always second guessed myself about if I’m good enough to blog. I am relatively new in my walk with Christ…but by speding time with the Lord and the understanding the Holy Spirit reveals to me, I get super EXCITED to share those things with other. However, when it comes time to put those thoughts and notes into a blog post, my creativity seems to leave and I feel frustrated. Maybe, just maybe I will try again. Please keep my in prayer 😊

  7. Enjoyed your article! I’m not a blogger but I enjoyed the encouragement as a Christian.
I design and sell house plans around the country. I know how many people see a set of house plans, builder, homeowner, electrician, friends, etc… I put John 3:16 on each sheet. I don’t usually tell anyone this because I don’t want them thinking that I’m bragging or trying to look like a really amazing Christian. This is my little way of sharing God’s love and story. I hope it gives people hope or something to think about.

    Thanks… Debra
